Safety & Security is often an after thought

“Police arrested a 37 year old man, Wednesday evening, hours after he allegedly opened fire at his workplace in Edgewood, Maryland”.

Now all of the questions and reviews begin in regards to the responsibility and liability of the employer.

Does the company have a security policy?

Has a security assessment been performed at the work site?

What policies on work place violence do they have?

Where their any warning signs?

Did anyone report unusual behavior?

What steps did the company take to ensure the safety of their workers?

It is important and responsible to have security professionals conduct a security assessment to evaluate the safety and security for all employees, customers and the general public. Corporations and businesses open themselves to severe liability issues when problems erupt and they have no supporting documentation to prove due diligence on their part to ensure safety and security .
